Sakhawat removed from Home Affairs, redistribution of responsibilities to advisers

Brigadier General (Retd.) M Sakhawat Hossain has been removed from the post of Home Affairs Advisor to the Interim Government. In his place, newly sworn-in former army officer Lt. J. (Retd.) Jahangir Alam.

Apart from Home Affairs, he has also been given the responsibility of Agriculture Ministry.

The matter was informed in a notification issued by the Cabinet Department on Friday (August 18) evening.

Changes have been made to others as well.

M Sakhawat Hossain has been given the new responsibility of Textile and Jute Ministry.

Newly sworn in Wahid Uddin Mahmud has been given the responsibility of Ministry of Planning and Ministry of Education. Ali Imam Majumder has been attached to the office of Chief Adviser. Ministry of Power, Energy and Minerals to Muhammad Fawzul Kabir Khan; The Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges and the Ministry of Railways have been given the responsibility.

Besides, Saleh Uddin Ahmed has been given the responsibility of Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Commerce. Asif Nazrul has been given the responsibility of Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs as well as Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment and Ministry of Culture.

Adilur Rahman Khan has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Industry as well as the Ministry of Housing and Public Works. Rizwana Hasan has been given the responsibility of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Ministry of Water Resources. Besides the Ministry of Post, Telecommunication and Information Technology, Nahid Islam has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

Asif Mahmud will handle the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Labor and Employment. Farooqui Azam has been given the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs and the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.
