The United Nations will investigate the killing of protesters during the quota reform movement in Bangladesh. Volker Turk, the head of human rights affairs of the United Nations, told this to the chief advisor of the interim government, Professor Muhammad Yunus.

Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said this in a post on Facebook on Wednesday.

He writes, UN Human Rights Chief Volker Turk spoke to Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on the phone on Wednesday.

At that time, the head of the United Nations said that the investigation of the killing of the agitators during the student revolution in Bangladesh will be started very soon under the leadership of the United Nations. Shafiqul Alam wrote that a team of United Nations experts will come to Bangladesh soon.

Shafiqul Alam wrote in a Facebook post that the chief adviser thanked Human Rights chief Turk and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres for supporting the student uprising in Bangladesh.

Dr. Yunus told the head of human rights that the main basis of his administration will be human rights. The government’s top priority will be to protect every citizen.

The press secretary also wrote, Professor Yunus has asked for the cooperation of the United Nations in rebuilding the country and upholding human rights.
