Students and parents of Vikarunnisa Noon School and College staged a protest demanding the principal’s resignation.
They protested in front of the institution’s main campus at Bailey Road branch around 10 am on Sunday.
The protestors alleged that the students who participated in the quota reform movement, would be expelled from the school – the principal Keka Roy Chowdhury threatened.
That is why they raised slogans demanding the resignation of the principal. Besides, the students raised various corruption charges against him.
At the same time, the students also demanded the resignation of the school’s senior physics teacher Farhana Khanam, assistant head teacher of the main branch Tanzina Imam and the governing body.
Later, Principal Keka Roy Chowdhury spoke to the protesting students.
Students told reporters that none of the allegations leveled against him as claimed by the principal were true. There is no evidence regarding this. If there is evidence, he will stand down.
The students of the school protested and formed a human chain last Thursday on the same demand. the
Principal Keka Roy Chowdhury’s mobile phone was called several times to inquire about this, but no response was received.
