President Md Sahabuddin has ordered the police to take strict measures to control the anarchic situation and stop looting.
He gave this order when the newly appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP) Moinul Islam went to meet the President at Bangabhaban on Wednesday (August 7).
Congratulating the new IGP, the President said that the role of the police in maintaining law and order in the country and the safety of people’s lives is very important.
Pointing out that restoring law and order in the country is the most important thing, he said, the police should focus on improving the current situation.
He called upon all concerned to take necessary steps so that every member of the police force can perform their duties with high morale and courage in accordance with the chain of command.
