15 killed in indiscriminate firing by Banshal police station

Police opened fire indiscriminately when students surrounded DMP’s Banshal police station in the capital. 15 people were killed and 265 injured.

On Monday afternoon, when the police opened fire on the march of angry students, the agitators chased the police and surrounded the Bangshal police station. At that time, the casualty happened when the police fired indiscriminately. 

At around 12:30 PM today, it is seen that the protesters have surrounded the Bangshal police station and the police are firing continuously from inside the police station. 

Till the last news (12:15 am) dead bodies of 15 people have been brought to the morgue of Sir Salimullah Medical College Mitford Hospital in the capital. 265 injured agitators are receiving treatment in the hospital. 

The family identified the body without any post-mortem. Two of them have been identified. They are Ali Raj (35) and Sohag (22). Both are said to be residents of Banshal Pukurpar area.

Ward Master of Mitford Hospital Sajjad Hossain said that the number of dead and injured in the hospital increased from Monday afternoon. 15 dead bodies have been brought to the hospital till night. All of them are aged between 20 and 35. 

He also said that medical care is being given to the injured.

Meanwhile, a boat belonging to former member of Parliament Haji Selim was set on fire by the angry crowd in Suparighat area of ​​Old Dhaka. On the other hand, in the afternoon, the angry mob pelted bricks and stones at Ashiq Tower in Chowkbazar. The glass of that building broke.
