A mother and daughter died after being hit by a train while trying to save their child in the district town. Another child was injured in this incident.The accident took place on Saturday (July 13) evening when the Chittagong-bound Suvarna Express left Dhaka on line 3 of platform 2 of Narsingdi railway station.The deceased are – Sabina Begum (25), wife of Malaysian expatriate Zainal Abedin and her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter Maymuna Akhter, resident of Char area of Itakhola Purba Munsafe of Shibpur Upazila. Meanwhile, his other daughter Sinha Akhter (4) was seriously injured.Eyewitnesses and family members of the deceased said that Sabina Begum came to Narsingdi for shopping with her two daughters. After shopping, he stayed at the station area to show the train to the children while returning home. At that time Sinha Akhter went on the railway line as he was busy taking pictures on his mobile phone. Later, mother Sabina Begum rushed to save Sinha with Maimuna in her lap, while the mother and daughter died tragically on the spot when they fell under the Chittagong-bound Suvarna Express leaving Dhaka. Locals rescued Sinha in a critical condition and took him to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital. Doctors on duty sent him to Dhaka in critical condition.Sabina’s nephew Tanim, who was with Sabina, who was killed at the time of the accident, said that the four of them came to Narsingdi with their aunt this afternoon. They shop at Index Plaza Shopping Mall. After shopping went to the railway station. They were taking pictures at the station. Sinha walks away from them. At that time, the Chittagong-bound train from Dhaka was crossing Narsingdi station. Suddenly Mami hears the sound of the train and sees that Sinha has gone near the railway line. Mami went to save Sinha with Maymuna in her lap. Meanwhile, Mami and Maymuna were killed by the train.Narsingdi station master AT M Mucha said that the Chittagong-bound Suvarna Express train was crossing Narsingdi station. At that time mother and daughter died under the train. A child was seriously injured.
