At least 71 people were killed in the Israeli attack on Gaza’s ‘safe zone’

71 Palestinians were killed in an Israeli airstrike in Al Mawasi, west of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza. Giving this information, the Ministry of Health run by Hamas in Gaza says that many more were injured in this attack on Saturday.

The area where the attack took place was already declared by Israel as a ‘safe zone’.

A statement from the Gaza Health Ministry said that more than 289 people were injured in the attack.

Following the incident, the Israeli Defense Forces said they were investigating the attack.

According to Israeli media reports, senior Hamas leader Mohammad Deif was the target of this attack.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been meeting with security officials throughout the day, according to a Reuters report.

An eyewitness told the BBC that the area where the airstrike took place looked like an “earthquake” had struck.

A video from the area shows bloodied victims being carried on stretchers from the smoldering wreckage. Many people are trying to remove the rubble and rescue many people from there.

Some videos from the Kuwait Field Hospital, located next to where the attack took place, showed many wounded lying on the floor. There was chaos in treating the injured.
