In Comilla University (KUBI), there was a police chase and clash with students agitating for quota reform in government jobs. The incident took place on the road in front of the Directorate of Archeology building adjacent to the university at around 3:30 pm on Thursday (July 11).
At that time the police dispersed the students by firing blank bullets and tear shells. Several students were injured. The injured students were rescued and sent to Comilla Medical College Hospital.
Two of the injured are in critical condition. The situation in the campus is tense.
University proctor Kazi Omar Siddiqui said that two injured people have been sent to Comilla Medical College Hospital. Efforts are underway to control the situation.
