A convoy of military patrols was attacked by separatists in India’s Jammu and Kashmir. Five soldiers were killed and six injured in the attack on Monday afternoon in the remote Machedi area of ​​Kathua district. News – NDTV

There were 10 soldiers in the army truck. After the attack, the separatists fled to a nearby forest. The army then chased them with the help of police and paramilitary forces. The injured were sent to a nearby military hospital.

An Indian official was quoted as saying in the report that the fleet of army vehicles was patrolling the road near Badnota village in Lohai Malhar, 150 km from Kathua city. At that time, the separatists attacked an army vehicle and fired grenades. Security forces then exchanged gunfire with the separatists. Three armed separatists are believed to be there. 

A group called Kashmir Tigers has reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack. For the past few months, terrorist attacks have been happening one after the other in Jammu and Kashmir. This is the third attack on the Indian Army in the last two days. A soldier was injured in an attack on an army camp in Rajouri district on Sunday. Earlier on Saturday, two soldiers of the Indian Army were killed in a gunfight with security forces by separatists in Kulgram district.
