our people, including the driver, were killed in a head-on collision between a bus and a covered van in Banani area of Bogra city. Seven others were injured.
The accident happened around 4 am on Tuesday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Jamal Hossain of Kazipur in Sirajganj, Shamim Hossain, Hriday of Hijla area of Barisal and an unidentified woman. The bodies of the deceased have been kept in the morgue of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.
Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (SHJMEC) Hospital Police Outpost Police Inspector Miladunnabi said that at around 4 am today, a night coach of Shah Fateh Ali Paribahan from Dhaka to Naogaon collided head-on with a covered van coming from the opposite direction. Hridiya, the driver of the covered van and an unidentified woman died on the spot. Later, on the way to rescue the injured and take them to Shajimek Hospital, Shamim and another person named Jamal died while undergoing treatment.
The bodies of the deceased have been kept at Shajimek Hospital Mortuary and one of the nine injured was discharged after first aid.
