Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rajshahi’s Chandrima Police Station Mahbub Alam sitting in the office taking money in an envelope – a video has gone viral. It can be seen in the video that the OC is sitting on a chair. A person sitting in front says, ‘Mahbub bhai, bhai ultab bhai. Let’s talk a little.’

The OC looked at the man and said, ‘Hmm’. The person sitting in front said, ‘Brother, give me a small envelope.’ The OC then smiled. At that time the person said, ‘Mahbub bhai, you know me, you know me, you understand me. I am coming to you because I am in danger.’

At this time OC Mahbub Alam smiled. Then the person said, ‘Give me an envelope.’ At this time, Mahbub Alam pulled his desk drawer and took out an envelope.

Then the OC looked at the person and said, ‘Dilam bhai, buijhen. Of course, I helped him before.’ The person then said, ‘I know, if I go to Mahbub Bhai, it will work.’ At this time the OC said, ‘No, help enough.’ While speaking, the person in front pushed the full envelope on the table and the OC took it back and put it in the drawer.

Then the person said, ‘I came so far because I couldn’t. Believe! I will come another day and tell you the details, then you will understand to what extent ‘he’ is causing me trouble. Otherwise I wouldn’t have come to you if I could have made an official solution. He took 40 people to GM sir to do remove form service for my sister. What I mean! He who commits injustice, and who is with him – both are equally guilty.’

The identity of the person who gave the money in the envelope could not be confirmed. However, denying the allegations, OC Mahbub Alam said, ‘You know about me. I don’t take money from public. I can’t remember with whom such a conversation took place. But I took a list of robbers in an envelope from one. That envelope is like that. There may be a video of that list being taken.’

OC Mahbub Alam repeatedly wants to know who gave the video. He requested that the video be deleted.

When asked, Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) spokesperson Jamirul Islam said, ‘I am not aware of any such matter. If something like this has happened, the authorities will take action.’
