ACC case against former district education officer of Jhenaidah

Former District Education Officer of Jhenaidah. The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed a case against Mokchedul Islam on the charge of acquiring huge wealth beyond the known income.  

Deputy Director of Jhenaidah Integrated District Office on Thursday. Shafi Ullah filed a statement as plaintiff. Later, Assistant Director of the same office Asaduzzaman took the statement as a case. 

According to the statement, Mokchedul Barisal, son of deceased Kitab Ali of Pirgacha village in Maheshpur, Jhenaidah, is a retired deputy director of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education. He served as the District Education Officer of Jhenaidah. He has given false information to ACC by concealing the account of wealth acquisition of 27 lakh 72 thousand 142 rupees. 

Also earned 35 lakh 40 thousand 660 rupees by dishonest means inconsistent with declared income. In 2018, the then integrated district office of the ACC launched an investigation into Jessor Mokchedul’s wealth. The allegations of acquiring wealth beyond known income are prima facie substantiated.

According to sources, there are numerous other complaints against Mokchedul, including recruitment trade in schools-college-madrasas under MPO during his employment in Jhenaidah. He lives in a luxurious house on Shahid Moshiur Rahman road in the district city. According to the sources related to the investigation, if the involvement of anyone else is found in the investigation, it will be included in the case.
