However, soon after Reshma’s recovery, my country published an investigative report. The report revealed that the rescue of Reshma was a staged drama. The description of the drama created to divert people’s attention came up in the investigative report of Amar Desh.
Chowdhury Hasan Sarwardy threatened after the release of the drama “Amar Desh Reshma Reshma”. He said – no one will come to play foul with the army. He was very powerful as the GOC of the 9th Infantry Division of the army. Reshma threatened my country from that position after the publication of the play, but now after almost ten years, she is saying why the media did not investigate.
After the publication of Amar Desh’s investigative report on Reshma, London-based and widely circulated “Daily Mirror” and “Daily Mail” investigated the incident.
Reporters of these two newspapers visited Bangladesh to report the incident. Separate investigative reports in the two newspapers also contain references to my country reports. Did Chowdhury Hasan Sarwardy and BBC Bengal not read these reports? It is to be noted that in an interview given to the British media BBC on Wednesday (August 3), he denied responsibility for the Reshma rescue drama, saying that his enemies may have done ‘that work’ to question the entire rescue operation and tarnish his image. He also opined that it was not necessary for the success of the rescue operation. By implicitly admitting that the silk rescue was staged, my country’s investigation report was correct.
