BNP senior joint secretary general advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said that the people of Bangladesh are going to become diaspora in their own country.

He made this call at a press conference at the BNP’s central office at Nayapaltan in the capital on Friday (June 28).

The press conference was organized on the occasion of the rally called tomorrow to demand the release of party chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

At this time, Rizvi called upon the leaders and workers of all levels of the party, including the people of Dhaka, to come to the rally on time.

Rizvi said, “Awami League general secretary said, ‘Those who are looking for the issue of opposition to India, are again going in the wrong direction’.” In Obaidul Quader’s words, we have to assume that someone will set up inside Bangladesh by jeopardizing our sovereignty, even if we oppose it, it will be the wrong way. India will build a railway through Bangladesh bypassing the chicken neck without the consent of the people and it will be seen in silence as dishonoring the blood of the martyrs of 1971. By signing an agreement to lay the Indian railway through Bangladesh, this government is being dishonest with the martyrs of the war of independence and the oppressed mothers and sisters.”

He said, ‘Bangladesh’s border is wet with blood, the rivers of Bangladesh flowing from India have turned into barren deserts, in the background of extreme trade deficit, the fate of the people of Bangladesh will be called into question by laying a railway line across the chest of Bangladesh to transport India’s military and civilian goods. Bangladesh cannot rely on its own power to protect its state secrets. All the NID information of the people of our country has already been informed to India. India has always regarded Bangladesh with a Big Brother-like dignity.’

This spokesperson of BNP said, ‘India gave legitimacy to Awami League in the one-sided dummy election on January 7, so thankfully they are not shying away from destroying India by selling the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh. People think that to hide the anti-national agreement – Chagalkand, Benzirkand, Azizkand, helicopter arrest of accused are being brought forward. Today, people are going to be abandoned, rejected and exiled in their own country because the country is running under the orders of a dictator.

He said, ‘The epidemic of corruption in the country, various colorful stories of looting and ugly lawlessness are now on people’s lips. And almost all those involved in these misdeeds are close to the rulers. The government ministers and MPs have become confused due to the leak of these incidents. Unbalanced talk. On the one hand, they say that the campaign against the corrupt is part of a conspiracy, while on the other hand, they say that the allegations are true. I don’t know what this word could mean. If the allegations are true, why should propaganda against the corrupt be part of the conspiracy?’

‘They are suffering from confusion, because the corrupt officials of this occupying Awami government were the loyal soldiers to sustain the dummy government. To hold illegal one-sided elections, these officials engaged in blood-sport to keep the voters on their knees. They have used state power arbitrarily to keep people on their knees. They are the ones who carried out deliberate killings, blaming their own forces for not being proactive about the uncontrolled killings. The pro-democracy has tried to silence the people by intimidation and gun violence. That is why the ministers-MPs are making a mess and making contradictory statements.’

Rizvi said, ‘A rally will be held in front of the BNP central office in Nayapaltan tomorrow Saturday to demand the unconditional release of the symbol of democracy, the mother of democracy, a leader who is unwaveringly committed to protecting freedom and sovereignty, Begum Khaleda Zia. The rally will start from 2 pm. We have already sent a letter to the police commissioner’s office for the rally. A BNP delegation also held a meeting with police officials. In order to make the rally successful, various preparatory meetings have been held successively under the coordination of BNP National Standing Committee member Mr. Mirza Abbas. All preparations have already been completed to make the rally a success. Hopefully a historic rally will be held tomorrow.’

Rizvi called upon all the leaders and workers of the party including the people of Dhaka to attend the rally on time to demand the release of Khaleda Zia.
