Government is selling the country for its own interests: Gayeshwar

Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, member of National Standing Committee of BNP, commented that although India looks after its own interests, the government is selling the interests of the country and the people for its own sake. He said this in a meeting with the leaders and workers of the defunct committee of Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP in Nayapaltan today.

Gayeshwar Chandra Roy said, ‘Our country is no longer in our hands. They will use the whole country, we will not be able to say anything. Teesta has been talked about, now they have dropped Mamata. They are telling Mamata. They look out for their own interests. And our government is selling the interests of the country and people for its own interests.    

Free Khaleda Zia means free democracy; Gayeshwar Chandra Roy commented that Khaleda Zia is free means freedom is satisfied. He said, ‘Begum Khaleda Zia is a symbol of patriotism and democracy. She is an uncompromising leader. Therefore, I hope that all the leaders and workers in Dhaka city will participate in the rally to be held next Saturday. Ziaur Rahman made BNP to protect the country. You have a team, you are many things, but without a team, there is nothing.’

He said to the activists, ‘If you are the first place among the lakhs of activists, how will he feel? And how would it feel if you were the first in one? We all have to carry on. Be the first to compete among millions of leaders and activists. This should be done through action.’

He also said, ‘I have to remember that although I am small, my team is very big. Why don’t you do anything to ordinary people? Ken says, we have their expectations. We have to do something for our country and its people. We have to prepare for this.’

Chairperson’s advisor Dr. also participated in the meeting. Farhad Halim Donor, Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, BNP leader Aminul Haque, Sultan Salahuddin Tuku and many others.
