Sangram Online: Former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed did not appear even after being summoned by the Anti-Corruption Commission for the second time. Disobeying the order to appear in person, he gave his statement in a letter. It is clear from his statement that he does not want to appear in person. Because, after the first round of summons, he requested time through a lawyer, but after the second round of summons, he sent the letter without requesting time. Yesterday, Sunday (June 23), he was called to the ACC head office at 10 am.

Earlier, on May 28, a notice was sent to Benazir and his wife and children for questioning. Benazir was asked to appear before the court on June 6 and his wife and children on June 9. In response to this order, on June 5, Benazir’s lawyer applied for 15 days at the ACC office in Segunbagicha of the capital. This application is made after seeking time from the Deputy Director of ACC. In view of this, he was asked to appear before the ACC on Sunday, June 23.

In addition to 621 bigha of land in several districts including Gopalganj, Madaripur, Dhaka, 4 flats in Gulshan, 33 bank accounts, shares of 19 companies and 3 BO accounts (Beneficiary Owners Accounts for share trading) and savings certificates of Tk 30 lakh were found in the name of Benazir Ahmed and his wife and children. acc. After investigation, the court ordered the seizure of these assets in view of the application of the ACC.
