RAB-5 rescued a class 10 madrasa student in Rajshahi 12 days after she was abducted. A young man named Shihabul Islam (21) has been arrested in this incident.
RAB members arrested the young man who rescued and kidnapped the student from Barabangram Panchanipara area of the city on Friday around 2.30 am.
Arrested Shihabul is the son of Mozammel Haque of Raninagar area of the metropolis.
In a press release sent by RAB on Saturday afternoon, Rafia Tarannum (14) is a class 10 student of Reshampatti Mahila Fazil Madrasa in the city. Rafia became friends with Shihabul Islam about 8 months ago on the way to and from madrasa. Shihabul was proposing love to Rafia on the basis of friendship. When Rafia did not agree to this, Shihabul kidnapped her in a microbus with her accomplices on June 10 when Rafia was going to madrasa.
In view of this, on June 22, Rafia’s family filed a kidnapping case at Boalia police station. The investigating officer of the police station informed the RAB about the case. RAB arrested the kidnapper Shihabul Islam from Barabangram Panchanipara area of the metropolis and rescued the abductee. Later, RAB handed over Shihabul to Boalia police station in the city.
