India’s warm welcome to Sheikh Hasina at Rashtrapati Bhavan

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended a warm formal welcome to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who is currently in New Delhi on a two-day state visit, in front of the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was given a red carpet welcome on the occasion and the national anthems of Bangladesh and India were played.

Modi welcomed the Prime Minister of Bangladesh when he reached the Rashtrapati Bhavan around 9 am.

A horse-drawn contingent of the President’s bodyguards escorted his motorcade from the Rashtrapati Bhavan gate.

A guard of honor was presented to Sheikh Hasina by a contingent of three armed forces of the Indian Armed Forces. After that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inspected the guard and saluted.

The Prime Minister of India then introduced the cabinet colleagues along with Sheikh Hasina in the presentation line. The Prime Minister of Bangladesh also introduced his tour companions to Modi.

Tofazzal Hossain Mia, Foreign Secretary Masood Bin Momen, Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Mostafizur Rahman, Bangladesh Bank Governor Abdur Rauf Talukdar, Electricity Department Secretary Md. Habibur Rahman, Bangladesh Satellite Company Limited Chairman Shahjahan Mahmud, Armed Forces Department Principal Staff Officer Lt. Gen. Mizanur Rahman Shamim, Railway Secretary Md Humayun Kabir, ERD Secretary Shahriar Quader Siddiqui, Prime Minister’s Press Secretary M Naemul Islam Khan, Speech Writer M Nazrul Islam, Awami League Presidium Member Kazi Zafarullah and Sheikh Hasina’s tour companions were present.
