There is no traffic jam even though there is a lot of traffic on the road during the Eid trip. Obaidul Quader, Minister of Road Transport and Bridges, has ordered the concerned persons to fulfill their responsibilities so that the public suffering does not increase by setting up animal carts and animal stalls everywhere.

He gave this instruction at a press conference at the Awami League president’s office in Dhanmondi in the capital today.

Obaidul Quader said that there is no such situation that there will be traffic jam due to the road. The best road ever in Bangladesh is now under the government of Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina. Animal carts and animal markets cause some traffic congestion. Those who have the responsibility in this regard should fulfill that responsibility properly so that the public suffering is not increased by placing animal carts and animal markets everywhere. It is difficult to avoid suffering when it rains. Attention should be paid to the performance of duties and monitoring should be increased to prevent untoward accidents and loss of life.

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said that inflation is causing problems in countries around the world. This inflation is also a cause of concern in Bangladesh. The government has done nothing to hide the truth by suppressing anything here. Budget is realistically balanced. This budget has been raised in Parliament under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina after long deliberations for many days.

Obaidul Quader said, once there was concern about inflation in Europe. Inflation was around 10 percent. In countries like Argentina, inflation is 300 percent. Inflation is 73 percent in Turkey, an influential country in world politics. Inflation conditions are not good in neighboring countries including Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

At that time, the general secretary of Awami League said that the corrupt people speak against corruption today. BNP is corrupt from top to bottom. The godfather of corruption is the acting chairman of the party, Tariq Rahman. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam gave a statement to make him a good person. Mirza Fakhrul did many things under his threat. Now he is saying that he cannot be punished. Obaidul Quader said, Tariq Rahman has been punished. Now he should be brought back to the country and punished, said the Prime Minister. As long as Tariq Rahman remains at the helm of BNP, it is not possible for BNP to make a political debut with independence. Awami League general secretary said that BNP would not have been as bad as before if they came to the election, they had that chance in the overall situation. There is no reason to try to make Tariq Rahman look good. Suddenly seven articles of the constitution of BNP were dropped with a stroke of the pen. According to the seven clauses of BNP, no one who is convicted and corrupt can become the leader of the party.

At that time, regarding the remand of the district Awami League general secretary in the murder of MP Anwarul, Obaidul Quader said that it is not right to call someone a criminal before the case is filed, before the punishment is announced, that is the rule. Is there such an example of district secretary remand during BNP and General Ershad period? Awami League has honest courage to judge.

In response to the words of Mirza Fakhrul, the current government is the enemy of BNP, Awami League General Secretary said that the government that can be the friend of BNP in this country is the government which will guarantee the absolute majority victory of BNP in the elections.

Awami League Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Organizing Secretary BM Mozammel Haque, Mirza Azam, Afzal Hossain, Sujit Roy Nandi, Office Secretary Biplab Barua, Education and Human Resources Secretary Shamsunnahar Chapa, Relief and Social Welfare Secretary Aminul Islam were present in the press conference.
