A young man named Masud Rana (25) has been arrested by the police on charges of rape in Damurhuda, Chuadanga. He was arrested from Boliyarpur of Meherpur Sadar Upazila on Tuesday evening.
Masud Rana’s house was arrested in Natipota Union of Damurhuda Upazila. The mother of the student filed a case against Masud Rana yesterday morning at Damurhuda Model Police Station.
According to the police, Masud Rana will be handed over to the court on Wednesday. A medical examination (MC) of the victim girl was conducted at Chuadanga Sadar Hospital yesterday.
According to the statement of the case, last Monday afternoon, the schoolgirl left her house to go to the shop. He was passing by the house of accused Masud Rana. Then Masud Rana spoke to the schoolgirl and at one point forced her into the room and raped her. He intimidated the schoolgirl so that she would not tell anyone about the rape incident. However, the student returned home and informed her mother about the incident.
Damurhuda Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Alamgir Kabir said that immediately after the case was filed in the police station, the policemen led by Deputy Inspector (SI) Asadur Rahman Asad conducted a raid. Masud Rana was arrested from Boliyarpur of Meherpur Sadar Upazila in the neighboring district.
Alamgir Kabir said that the rape victim told the details to the female members of the police. Medical examination of the victim has been completed. The accused will be produced in court on Wednesday.
