A Jamaat leader named Abdus Sattar (60) has been arrested in the case of Explosives Act in Sherpur of Bogra. Police arrested him from his house in Rahmannagar village of Garidah Union of Upazila at around 7:30 am on Wednesday.
Abdus Sattar Garidah is the former chairman of Union Parishad (UP). He is the former secretary of Garidah Union Jamaat.
According to Sherpur Police Station, a case was filed against Abdus Sattar under the Explosives Control Act in 2013. The case is now under trial. In that case, an arrest warrant was recently issued to the police station in the name of Abdus Sattar.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sherpur Police Station Rezaul Karim told Prothom Alo that police stationed in front of Abdus Sattar’s house at six in the morning today. When he came out of the house in the morning, the police arrested him. Abdus Sattar is in the process of being sent to Bogra jail through the court.
