The member secretary of the sub-committee said that the number of martyrs in the July Revolution is 1,423. But this number can be more or less. We will be able to make a full list very quickly. According to the latest information obtained after checking in various ways for the past one month, 22 thousand were found injured. 587 persons are permanently crippled or maimed.
Regarding the injured, he said, working with the injured is very difficult. Because this number is huge. We have a list of 22,000 injured people so far. But there will be addition-subtraction with it.
Tarekul Islam said that the number of people who were crippled or injured during the movement was 587. 685 people lost partial or complete sight due to gunshots. 92 of them were shot in both eyes or had both eyes destroyed.
Tarekul Islam said that the government has initially decided to pay eight lakh taka to the families of the victims. At the same time, the injured can be given a maximum of four lakh rupees. Apart from this, the government may give a monthly allowance of 20 to 30 thousand to the martyr’s family. However, these decisions are not yet final.
